Our Vision is to create a world where every student, regardless of their circumstances, has access to opportunities that unlock their full potential.we aspire to inspire a generation of leaders who give back, make a difference, and contribute to positive change in their communities.
I always envisioned myself empowering and giving back to the youth, mentoring the youth and even funding a namesake scholarship after my father, during my younger youth years. It has been very imperative for me to continue my father’s legacy through this foundation. My late father, Yves Quettant, worked two to three jobs at a time to provide for his both of his family in the states and in Haiti while attending school simultaneously. He was tragically murdered when my mother was seven months pregnant with me. He was a hardworking man who was adamant about providing for others and displaying the importance of education.
On the other hand, my mentor who was also my fourth and fifth grade elementary teacher, Ms. Shaakira Akbar, made me aware early on that good people still existed in this world through her actions. She has been in every transition in my life from elementary to my college matriculation and even as a young adult becoming a family woman. Throughout the years she has provided financial assistance to me and has been an active mentor.
The world would be a better place if every young lady had a Ms.Shaakira as a role model/mentor.
Q&A Foundation Inc. is simply an act of honoring two of the most influential people in my life who has inspired me through their work ethic, mentorship, act of giving back and love for academics. Through this foundation we plan to impact the lives of the youth by paying it forward every chance we get.
